The ICT team supports the various information systems, software applications and data technologies used in the Prescient Fund Services business. The purpose of this senior technical Business Analyst role is to gather and analyse the business (financial) data requirements across the technologies and then design, implement, and support data models to meet these requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with applications, product owners, vendors, users, and other stakeholders to gather and analyse the data requirements of Prescient Fund Services
  • Design and implement data models to meet these data requirements across the various systems at Prescient Fund Services
  • Provide business support for data and data use
  • Implement and support data integration solutions for financial instruments and market data

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • 6-8 years investment or financial services industry experience in a technical role, working with or analysing financial, market, instrument, and corporate actions data
  • Experience in designing and or working with data integration solutions
  • Experience in working with database management systems
  • Experience in requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement and ownership of data solutions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE

A tertiary qualification in a technical discipline (e.g., Information Systems/Technology, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering etc).

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Have a good understanding of financial instruments, their models and financial market data
  • Be proficient at working with large amounts of data
  • Have an understanding and be familiar with implementations of relational databases and data flow systems and processes
  • Strong technical ability in working with a variety of technologies
  • Analytical thinker with complex problem-solving skills
  • Must have a structured work style and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing business requirements
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and maintain high standards for data and data use
