What excites you the most about investment/financial markets?

What excites me most is the intersection of mathematics and real-world decision-making. Financial markets are one of the few environments where quantitative reasoning directly translates into outcomes, whether that's constructing a portfolio that balances risk and return, or uncovering signals in data that inform better investment decisions.

Why do you believe Prescient's Graduate Programme can help you achieve your current career goals?

My goal is to build a career in investment research and analysis, and Prescient's approach to investing aligns closely with how I think about markets. Prescient is known for its quantitative and systematic investment philosophy, an approach that values evidence over intuition and process over impulse. That resonates strongly with my academic background and how I want to develop professionally. The Graduate Programme offers the rare opportunity to learn this discipline from practitioners who have applied it rigorously over time, giving me a structured foundation I couldn't build as quickly anywhere else.

What advice would you give a new graduate starting their career?

Stay curious and stay humble. As a new graduate, it's tempting to feel like your degree has prepared you for everything, but the real learning begins on the job. Be willing to do the unglamorous work early on, ask questions without fear of looking inexperienced, and invest time in truly understanding the fundamentals of your field before chasing advancement.
