The purpose of this role is to drive strategic initiatives as part of the digital transformation journey which the business is embarking on. This is an exciting role which will focus on process automation, data analytics, and an opportunity to work with various parts of the business. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play a leading role in project related tasks, testing, and implementing new solutions in support of strategic initiatives
  • Assist with the streamlining and automation of processes, and collaborate with internal teams to optimize processes across the business
  • Ensure integrity of data captured in the databases, and reconcile data from different sources
  • Co-ordinate various metrics, perform analytics and interpret data for senior management and Exco
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in data analysis, machine learning, and financial markets to identify opportunities for innovation and improvements within the organization
  • Collaborate with Business, IT teams and other stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Participate in User the Acceptance Testing (UAT), JSE/DR/BCP Testing as required
  • Develop and document business processes and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Co-ordinate the compilation of incident reports for the purpose of consolidated reporting
  • Analyse the root cause of any possible breaches and recommend preventative measures
  • Provide support to the business on various ad-hoc tasks as required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant experience of at least 2- 3 years in a financial services administration/fund accounting role with exposure to Hedge Funds is essential
  • Strong computer skills specifically Excel is a must
  • Prior experience of working on an Investment Accounting platform advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in a stockbroking environment (preferred) or a Fund Services / Asset Management Administration environment with exposure to investment/financial markets
  • A solid understanding of financial instruments, including Fixed Income and Derivative Instruments
  • Able to work on various IT systems (advanced Excel, Accounting & Exchange Systems, including Nutron, Mecras, BDA and Swordfish, Filezilla)
  • Experience in the management of data and working with databases will be a distinct advantage

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  •  B.Bus.Sci, BCom, B.Compt, BSc or equivalent
  • JSE and RPE Exams (or willingness to write)
    • Introduction to Financial Markets (RPE)
    • Regulations and Ethics of the South African Financial Markets (RPE)
