Stephen was appointed as CEO at Prescient Securities in 2023. His 17-year tenure at Prescient Securities began as a financial analyst, where he garnered recognition in the Financial Mail Ranking the Analyst awards. He subsequently transitioned to the equity trading desk, where he rose through the ranks to become Head of Equity Trading.
In 2021, he assumed the position of Head of Trading where he oversees the cash equities, bonds, and derivatives teams.
Stephen is a member of the PSec EXCO and serves as a trustee on the board of the Prescient Retirement funds, where he also chairs the Retirement Fund investment sub-committee.
Anthea joined Prescient Securities in 2010 as Head of Operations, having overall responsibility for the day to day Operations, as well as Finance, Risk and Compliance Functions. She’s been the appointed JSE and FSB Compliance Officer, with an obligation to report to the Board. During 2015, she joined the Prescient Securities Executive Committee, and in February 2018 she was appointed as Executive Director and Stockbroker in Control, to run the business alongside the CEO.
James Twyman is head of equity research within Prescient Securities. In this role, he is responsible for equity research, specialising in the paper and industrial sectors. He has been one of the top ranked analysts in his sector for 25 years.
Through his 32-year tenure in the industry, James’ career started as an industrials and paper analyst at UBS in London for 17 years, he then moved to fund management as a global energy and mining analyst at Alliance Bernstein and Alliance Trust in London for seven years before joining Prescient Securities in 2017.
Wayne plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial strategies and debt administration for corporate clients. In his current role, Wayne specialises in raising funding from asset managers and institutions for larger corporates, showcasing his adaptability and expertise in financial markets.
His career commenced with his admission as an attorney after which he joined FNB as a legal advisor in FirstLaw in 1988. His specialist skills in financial law and taxation resulted in him being invited to work in RMB as a senior merchant banker and deal maker from 1999, where he stayed in various roles before joining Prescient in Cape Town in 2010.
Wayne’s career and diverse skill set make him a valuable asset to Prescient Securities, where he continues to thrive in navigating the intricacies of corporate notes and debt administration. His commitment to excellence and broad expertise contribute significantly to the success of the team and the clients he serves.
